As the Victorian COVID-19 situation worsens and ‘a state of disaster’ is declared, children and adults with disability need to be a primary focus of government. We have already seen infections in group homes for people with disability, and significant impacts on their access to services and children’s right to education.

NEDA and FECCA to deliver NDIS Community Connectors Program to CALD Communities

The National Ethnic Disability Alliance (NEDA) and the Federation of Ethnic Communities’ Councils of Australia (FECCA) are pleased to be working with the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) to implement a component of the National Community Connector Program (NCCP).

FECCA and NEDA are among the organisations selected to roll out the new outreach program, focusing on connecting people with disability from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds with the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

NEDA welcomes the Morrison Government’s commitment to work with people with disability during the COVID-19 global pandemic

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to unfold globally and here in Australia, we are facing tough and uncertain times.
 
For people with disability and people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds, the pandemic has been an incredibly difficult time as they are facing unique challenges.
 
The National Ethnic Disability Alliance would like to thank the government for their commitment to ensure the wellbeing of people with disability as the COVID 19 pandemic evolves.

Media Release: Urgent Measures Needed To Support People With Disability During COVID-19 Crisis

People with disability from across Australia are calling for urgent action to make sure we are included in preparations for the current public health emergency.

Eight national peak organisations have come together to outline to all levels of government, the National Disability Insurance Agency, other agencies and the private sector, about the range of concerns that people with disability have.
